Microsoft has revealed that its most popularly used communication service Skype is suffering from connectivity outages. The factor/problem that has led to the connectivity outage is yet to be diagnosed. Although, some claims suspect a potential cyber-attack behind this outage. The attack most likely could be a DDoS attack, according to experts.

The tweet ‘Skype down by CyberTeam', has added to the suspicion to conclude this as a cyber attack.

Microsoft confirmed the outage on its blog

"Hello, we are aware of an incident where users will either lose connectivity to the application or may be unable to send or receive messages. Some users will be unable to see a black bar that indicates them that a group call is ongoing, and longer delays in adding users to their buddy list."

The blog was later updated, which read:

"[UPDATE Jun 20, 2017, 14:00 GMT]: We're seeing improvements and users also signal us they can use Skype. However, there are still users that may experience the issue - we're working on that! [UPDATE Jun 20, 2017, 20:00 GMT]: We have made some configuration corrections and mitigated the impact. We are continuing to monitor and we will post an update when the issue is fully resolved." UPDATE - Microsoft has confirmed that the problem has been solved.
