A 10th Std student committed suicide under the influence of ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ game, which has caused anxiety among parents across the nation. In India, this is the second incident officially reported. The student named Ankan dhe is from Midnapur, West Bengal. This disheartening incident took place on Saturday night. The boy had gone for bath and was found dead on the toilet floor when his relatives broke open the door. The deceased body was strangled with a plastic cover and covered face. His friends gave the clue that he was addicted to Blue whale game. The first incident on Blue Whale game was reported earlier when a boy committed suicide by jumping from the top of a building. Beware of lethal Blue whale suicide challenge game!

  • ‘Blue whale challenge’ game originated in Russia which was developed by a 21-year-old psychology student named Philipp Budeikin.
  • The game gained wide popularity online.
  • The game takes the participant through 50 levels and finally leads the victim to suicide.
  • At present, 130 cases were reported around the world within 2 years.
  • Philipp Budeikin says his victims who kill themselves are ‘biological waste’ and that he is ‘cleansing society’.
Children get addicted to this game without knowing the lethal consequences. Once started to play, they cannot step back or uninstall. All personal data will be accessed by the game master before starting the first level. Mif the participant tends to withdraw, he/she will be blackmailed using their personal data. The players will be given further challenges in the course of the game.This lethal game involves brainwashing victims - mostly adolescents for about 50days. The first challenge is to draw a tattoo on hand with cut wound blood. The game master then asks and urges to complete the mission one by one which includes watching horror movies to waking up at strange hours.  To validate the act, the player has to send a selfie to the game master. Within two weeks, the players will be addicted and will eventually become victims of the game. And finally, the game master moulds the victim to commit suicide.Unlike other online games, blue whale is unavailable in play store or other online platforms. This is the reason why the game is not yet banned and still accessible to the target children. The only prevention is to create awareness among children to prevent any disappointing incidents.TIPS TO PARENTS

  • Follow age restrictions on various websites - this is just to protect yourself and not for anyone else.
