On Tuesday, Hackers took down the websites of Bahrain's international airport, which was unavailable until at least 1:45 pm GST.

The statement posted by a group AL-Thoufan or "The Flood" in Arabic, declared to have hacked the airport website, which was unavailable until at least 1:45 p.m. G.S.T and was down again shortly after. And it is to mark the 12th anniversary of an Arab Spring uprising in the Gulf Country.

It also claimed to have taken down the websites of the state-run Bahrain News Agency, which was rarely unavailable at midday. They also took down the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce in the afternoon, and later access resorted.

The group posted an image of a website showing 504 Gateway Timeout Errors. It stated the hacking was "in support of the revolution of our oppressed people in Bahrain."

Hours Earlier, the articles on the website Akhbar Al Khaleej, a pro-government newspaper in Bahrain, were hacked and changed by the same group. The newspaper's website was still down Tuesday.

It is unclear whether the attacker forged the attack using malware or the traditional DoS method, where the target website is flooded with requests until it fails to load for users.

The Government stated, "Several Government agency websites have today been the target of malicious cyber attacks." "Government operations were unaffected by the attacks, and work is ongoing to restore access to the targeted websites."

It hasn't been said who was behind the attacks. The same shadowy group of hackers targeted government websites during elections held in November.
