A group of cyber hacktivists attacked the Ryan school website on Wednesday to bring it down and shown a message that paid tribute to Pradyuman Thakur, the seven-year-old boy who was found killed with his throat slit in the washroom of Ryan International school in Gurugram last Friday. The hackers claimed themselves as Kerala Cyber Warriors or GHO57_R007, said they hacked the Ryan school website as a "tribute to seven-year-old Pradyuman.” They posted a photo of Pradyuman with a message “you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.”
The hackers blamed the school management for their security negligence in safety measures and demanded justice for pradyuman in their message. School authorities were criticized for not installing CCTV cameras and for not checking the background of employees before hiring them. They also blamed the school for allowing vendor staff into school buildings and students' washrooms. The hackers ended their message saying “Education is not a business.” The group claims to have hacked four websites namely, official website ryaninternational.org, ryaninternationalschools.org, ryanglobalschools.com and iceplex.tv. The hackers have not only hacked the school websites but has also put out an FB post, thus, paying their homage to the victim. Below is the FB post that claims the hacking of Ryan school websites:
Police had arrested the 42-year-old bus conductor Ashok Kumar who killed Pradyuman Thakur with a knife when the boy resisted an attempt to abuse him sexually.Apart from the conductor, police arrested two top officials of the school’s management. The hack happened on the same day when the founder of Ryan International School and his wife (managing director of the group) was granted relief by Bombay high court in connection with the murder of the student. This case has turned into a major national issue concerning safety and security of children in private schools. Ryan group of schools has come under intense criticism for failing to ensure the safety of its students.
