Luxottica is the world’s largest company in the eyewear industry. Luxottica has around 80,000 employees worldwide.
Luxottica manufactures, designs, distributes and retails its eyewear brand, including SunglassHut, Apex by Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Eyemed vision care plan, Target Optical and Glasses.com.
The most popular brands are Ray-Ban, Persol and Oakley. Luxottica also makes sunglasses and prescription frames for designer brands such as Giorgio Armani Chanel, Versace, Burberry, Tory Burch, Miu Miu and Dolce and Gabbana.
Since Friday evening, people began to report that the websites of Ray-Ban, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Pearle Vision and EyeMed we’re down and wondered if they were breached.
The Luxottica portals one.luxottica.com and university.luxottica.com are currently displaying maintenance messages stating the sites are under maintenance.

The Italian media reported that the IT systems for Luxottica offices in Agordo and Sedico, Itay, we're undergoing “computer system failure.” The employees received a text message informing them to home as they could not work.
The employees were sent home due to “serious IT problems, ” Union sources confirmed to Italian media Ansa.
BadPackets, a cybersecurity intelligence firm, had told BleepingComputer that Luxottica had a Citrix ADX controller device vulnerable to the critical CVE-2019-19781 flaw in Citrix devices.
Luxottica has not yet confirmed the outages. According to the media reports, Luxottica suffered a cyber attack, with ransomware, the likely culprit.
