The world’s most significant phishing framework U-Admin was shut down by an international operation.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man from the Ternopil region who developed a phishing package and an admin panel that the customers of the service could use.

On February 4, Thursday Ukraine policearrested a suspect who's name is not released to the public, in the Ternopil region of Ukraine, following an international investigation between law enforcement agencies in Australia, Ukraine and the U.S.

ZDNet reported that the suspect was the author of U-Admin, a phishing tool also referred to as uPanel.

The phishing service aimed attacks at financial institutions in 11 countries such as Australia, the U.S., Italy, Chile, Australia, Spain, the U.S., Italy, Chile, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico and the U.K. and caused tens of millions of dollars in losses.

The authorities reported in 2019, in Australia, more than 50% of all phishing attacks were carried using the U-Admin phishing service.

The cybercriminal created an online store on DarkNet to sell his products to customers. The accused also provided technical support to its users for phishing attacks.

In a press release from the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal affairs, officials said that the police seized mobile equipment, mobile phones and hard drives in the five searches conducted in the Ternopil region. Based on the data obtained, U-Admin had more than 200 active users.
