After 12 weeks of WannaCry ransomware attack more than $143,000 worth of bitcoins paid by the victims were removed from three online wallets

After 12 weeks of WannaCry ransomware attack more than $143,000 worth of bitcoins paid by the victims were removed by wannacry hackers from three online wallets linked to the attackers. For months it was untouched, and it is unclear who is behind this. The transfer was confirmed by Elliptic, a London-based start-up that helps law enforcement authorities track down criminals using the cryptocurrency.According to elliptic the last withdrawal was made on Thursday and the Bitcoin withdrawn are converted into separate crypto currency. The bitcoins were moved to nine other Bitcoin accounts.The activity was first noticed by a twitter bot that quartz set up to watch the Bitcoin accounts. The first transaction was made on late Wednesday. On the first transaction, itself half of the amount was withdrawn. After 5 minutes there were another three withdrawals and after ten minutes the final withdrawal. It has been three months since the WannaCry ransomware attack infected computer across the world. The files were encrypted and were asked to pay ransom between $300 to $600 to get their files back. Europol, the European Union's law enforcement agency, declined to comment on the incident and said that the investigation is going on.
