The popular messaging app WhatsApp was down globally for hours.It reportedly experiencing problems in sending or receiving messages across the worldThe issue was first reported around 8 am GMT on Friday when users reported having problems with connecting the appAccording to reports, the problem was focused on western Europe Asia, but almost every user experienced this issue across the world.51 percent of users were having issues with the connecting to the app, 29 percent were having an issue in receiving messages, and 14 percent are struggling to login according to Express.co.uk.

Website DownDetector published a map in which there was a huge spike in users reporting problems with the app.Whatsappen, an unofficial Twitter account which reports on WhatsApp, said that "It's not known how long the issues will take.
