The new update on the breach was announced by Oath which is a new division of Verizon, a digital media company who acquired Yahoo for $4.48 billion early this year. "The company recently obtained new intelligence and now believes, following an investigation with the assistance of outside forensic experts, that all Yahoo user accounts were affected by the August 2013 theft," Verizon said in a statement. The company officials have said that they have started sending emails to every affected user to change their passwords immediately. Yahoo also confirms the stolen data does not contain passwords in clear text and payment or banking information in the post published by the company This breach is different from 2014 breach which was disclosed by Yahoo in September 2016 which around 500 million user accounts.
